In Paul's second letter to the church in Corinth, he exhorts the church to be reconciled to God. This is the grand mission for which Christ bore our sins upon the cross. Paul argues for the sufficiency of the Gospel and the glory of Christ, not as a means to an end, but as the end itself. First and foremost, he asserts, we should fix our hearts on a desire to stand faultless before the Lord, and come to the conviction that such a desire can only be realized through faith in the work of Christ...nothing more and nothing less.
